Tour Itinerary
SATURDAY – This morning following breakfast we travel to Chatham and the Chatham Historic Dockyard (Admission Included). Return to the ‘Age of Sail’ when the Dockyard built mighty ships that mastered the world’s oceans. Test your sea legs as you marvel at HMS Ocelot, a Cold War Submarine; explore HMS Cavalier, a Second World War Destroyer; walk the deck of HMS Gannet, our Victorian Sloop. Watch the Master Ropemakers at work using centuries old techniques on in our Victorian Ropery.
Chatham Historic Dockyard is also home to the ‘Call The Midwife’ Official Location Tour. If you’re a fan of the hit series, a trip to see where Call the Midwife is filmed should be top of your bucket list. We have included a ‘Call The Midwife’ Official Location Tour in the cost of your excursion.
Walk in the footsteps of Nurse Trixie Franklin, Sister Julienne and Dr Turner and explore where the real drama happens. The walking tour is led by your very own costumed midwife. Along the tour you’ll recognise the cobbled streets and buildings of ‘Poplar’ plus iconic locations such as the Grosvenor Hotel and ‘Chummy’s Hill’, where Nurse Noakes famously learnt to ride her bike. With a picture book to help trigger your memories, you’ll see just how Neal Street Productions transform 400 year old Chatham dockyard into to East London. The tour culminates with our exclusive Call the Midwife exhibition containing set, props and costumes.Following a day exploring Chatham, we return to your hotel, where, dinner is served in the hotel restaurant this evening. SUNDAY – This morning following breakfast, we enjoy an excursion to the charming cathedral city of Canterbury. Home to some of our country’s most fascinating stories, Canterbury is shaped by nature, history and its people. From Romans, to royalty, saints to knights and playwrights to pilgrims - you can create an exciting itinerary to explore Canterbury.
After lunch we return to your hotel as we come to another highlight of this tour, Afternoon Tea in the company of Miss Holiday Swing! Miss Holiday Swing is the bouncing, bubbly sweetheart singing songs from the 1920’s through modern day but always in her vintage style! Transporting you back to the golden age of Swing, she will serenade you with the sounds of Vera Lynn, Glen Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, Postmodern Jukebox, and The Andrews Sisters to name but a few…Being a keen Lindy Hopper herself, she knows the tunes to get those toes tapping!
This evening we enjoy one final dinner in the hotel restaurant and your final night.

MONDAY - This morning following breakfast, we bid a fond farewell to the Marriott Bexleyheath Hotel as we begin the journey home taking the memories of this wonderful weekend break home with us. We arrive back at your original joining point late afternoon/evening. Included Meals - Breakfast
