Tour Itinerary

THURSDAY (DAY 1) – This morning, from your local departure point, we travel to your 4* luxury overnight hotel, the 4* Dunkeld House House (A Crerar Hotel). This four-star luxury country house hotel is set on 280 acres of well-maintained and natural woodland, overlooking the wide and fast-flowing River Tay & offers the perfect start to your Hebridean Odyssey Adventure. This hotel offers a truly wonderful hospitality experience. With  contemporary Scottish décor, you'll find all of the fine finishing touches you’d expect from a luxury four-star country house hotel.

This evening, before dinner, we enjoy an included Whisky & Chocolate Tasting Experience, after which we enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant before the final push to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis tomorrow. Included Meals – Dinner

FRIDAY (DAY 2)   Following a leisurely breakfast, we continue our journey north calling in at the 4* Macdonald Drumossie Hotel on the outskirts of Inverness for an included two course lunch. We then continue our journey north to Ullapool to catch the evening sailing to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. Our evening meal is taken onboard the ferry this evening by way of a meal voucher.

On arrival into Stornoway, we will transfer you to your hotel, the 4* Cabarfeidh Hotel on the outskirts of Stornoway, where we will spend the next 4 nights. SATURDAY (DAY 3)   This morning, following breakfast, we meet our guide for a tour of the Isle of Lewis & Uig district. Taking us to the northern part of the Hebrides with its rolling moorlands, we make stops for coffee and lunch as we go. Throughout the day, we pay visits to Carloway Mill, the Callanish standing stones and visitors’ centre, the ancient thatched ‘Blackhouses’ Museum (Admission Included) and take in the scenery of Uig, The Butt of Lewis, Port of Ness and Doune Carloway Broch.


We return to your hotel for time at leisure before dinner in the hotel restaurant tonight.

SUNDAY - Following a leisurely breakfast, we enjoy a day at leisure, after the travelling of recent days. It is also a legal day off for the crew. The day is yours to spend at leisure in & around Stornoway. You may wish to visit the grounds of Lews Castle & take a stroll or enjoy refreshments in the café there. This evening, we enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant. Included Meals - Breakfast & Dinner

MONDAY (DAY 5) - Today we meet our guide for a tour of the Isle of Harris & include visits to Horgabost Beach, 

St Clements Church, Tarbert (the home of Harris Tweed) & the Isle of Harris Distillery. We also visit 'Hebrides People' at Northton, which is a genealogy centre and museum with excellent displays.


Late afternoon, we return to our hotel in Stornway for dinner & our final night on the Isle of Lewis before heading south to Benbecula tomorrow.

TUESDAY (DAY 6) After breakfast, we say farewell to Stornoway & the Cabarfeidh Hotel & welcome our guide (who will be travelling with us for the next three days), before travelling south through Lewis & Harris. We board an afternoon ferry from Leverburgh to Bernaray. We then drive to the Isle of Benbecula & the 3* Dark Isle Hotel, which will be our base for the next two nights. The hotel boasts a restful lounge bar and dining room serving tasty local produce. All bedrooms are en-suite with a TV, and courtesy tea trays.


This evening, we enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant. Included Meals - Breakfast & Dinner


WEDNESDAY (DAY 7) – This morning following breakfast, we meet our guide for a full day tour of South Uist, the Isle of Eriskay (where the stricken vessel S.S Politician ran aground off Eriskay in 1941 & inspired the story ‘Whisky Galore’) & the Island of Barra. The island is steeped in history and in the bar of the Politician Pub (opened in 1988), you will find some of the artefacts salvaged from the S.S Politician. We also visit St Michael’s Church. Travelling by ferry, we also make our way to the Island of Barra. Barra is the most southerly of the inhabited islands and long famed for its beautiful beaches, hills, machair and moor all in one small island. We visit the seaside town of Castlebay. This afternoon, we retrace our steps back to Benbecula & the Dark Isle Hotel for dinner & our final night on Benbecula before heading south tomorrow.

THURSDAY (DAY 8) -  Following breakfast, we continue our journey south to Lochboisdale on South Uist calling in at the The Kildonan Centre, which is a heritage and cultural amenity which includes a museum & a craft shop. On arrival at Lochboisdale, we board the afternoon sailing to Mallaig  & wave farewell to our time in the in the Outer Hebrides.

On arrival in Mallaig, we continue to journey south through Glencoe to Oban & the 4* Oban Bay Hotel & Spa, which will be our base for the next two nights.


This evening, we enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant. Included Meals - Breakfast & Dinner


FRIDAY (DAY 9) -  This morning following a leisurely breakfast, we enjoy a day at leisure in Oban. Oban is often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Isles' and means 'little bay'. Nestled on the west coast and surrounded by miles of dramatic shores and beautiful countryside, the seaside town of Oban is a great place to finish our Hebridean Odyssey adventure. Oban itself is compact and it's easy to get round on foot. There are plenty of small galleries and independent stores to browse through, as well as the centrally-located local distillery, chocolate shop, and museum. Wander along the seafront to the ruined Dunollie Castle and the sandy beaches beyond - the sunsets here are phenomenal. Alternatively, you may wish to take advantage of the Oban Bay Hotels Spa facilities and treat yourself to a spa day or treatment. Tonight, we enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant & our final night in Scotland.

SATURDAY (DAY 10) - Following one final breakfast in Scotland, it is time to bid a fond farewell the to 4* Oban Bay Hotel, as we begin our journey home after a wonderful Hebridean Odyssey, but the holiday is not quite over yet! This morning, we journey to the shores of Loch Lomond for an included morning coffee cruise with shortbread, before we begin the journey home properly. After our cruise, we journey south taking the memories of this wonderful 10 day Hebridean Odyssey home with us, to arrive back at your original departure point later afternoon/evening.
