Oban, Mull & The Spectacular West Highland Line Aboard The Jacobite

Oban derives its name from the Gaelic language and means 'little bay', but when it comes to having an unforgettable break, Oban is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. Nestled on the west coast and surrounded by miles of dramatic shores and beautiful countryside, the seaside town is a great place for a holiday and base for exploring the surrounding islands. Why not also join us for a day trip to the Isle of Mull?

The Jacobite- Described as the greatest railway journey in the world, this 84 mile round trip takes you past a list of impressive extremes. Starting near the highest mountain in Britain, Ben Nevis, it visits Britain's most westerly mainland railway station, Arisaig; passes close by the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar and the shortest river in Britain, River Morar, finally arriving next to the deepest seawater loch in Europe, Loch Nevis!
